Salawat al-Kubra

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

1. “There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you [i.e., your guidance] and to the believers is kind and merciful.” (9:128)

2. I worship Allah, my Lord, and do not associate anything with Him.

3. O Allah, I call upon You by all Your beautiful names. There is no deity but You, glory be to You, to send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad just as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim; indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.

4. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad, the primordial Prophet, and upon his family and companions, and grant them complete peace. And Allah’s prayers be upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, a prayer he is truly worthy of.

5. O Allah, Lord of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, and reward Muhammad with what he is truly worthy of.

6. O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens, Lord of the Great Throne, our Lord and Lord of everything, the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Great Criterion (Qur’an).

7. O Allah, You are the First, so there is nothing before You, and You are the Last, so there is nothing after You, and You are the Manifest, so there is nothing above You, and You are the Inward, so there is nothing more hidden than You. To You belongs all praise. “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” (21:87) What Allah wills happens, and what He does not will does not happen. There is no power except with Allah.

8. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad, Your servant, Your Prophet, and Your Messenger, a blessed and good prayer, as You commanded that we send prayers and peace upon him with complete submission.

9. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad until nothing remains of Your prayers, and have mercy on Muhammad until nothing remains of Your mercy, and bless Muhammad until nothing remains of Your blessings.

10. O Allah, send prayers and peace, grant success and victory, complete and rectify, purify and profit, fulfill and make prevail the best of prayers and the greatest of favours and greetings upon Your servant, Your Prophet, Your Messenger, our master and patron Muhammad, peace be upon him, who is the dawn of the light of Divine Oneness, the rising sun of lordly secrets, the joy of the moon of eternal realities, the Throne of the presences of the All-Merciful, the light and radiance of every messenger – “Ya Seen. By the wise Qur’an. Indeed, you are among the messengers. On a straight path.” (36:1-4) The secret of every prophet and his guidance – “That is the decree of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.” (36:38) The essence of every saint and his light – “Peace, a word from a Merciful Lord.” (36:58)

11. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon Muhammad, the primordial Prophet, the Arabian, the Qurayshi, the Hashemi, the Abtahi, the Tihami, the Makki, the possessor of the crown and honour, the owner of goodness and noble deeds, the commander of expeditions and giver of gifts, the leader in battles and jihad, the possessor of spoils and distribution, the bearer of signs and miracles, the owner of clear evidences, the one of pilgrimage, shaving the head, the Talbiyyah, the one of Safa and Marwa, al-Mash’ar al-Haram, the Station and the Qiblah, the niche and the pulpit, the owner of the Praiseworthy Station and the Pond of Abundance, the one who intercedes and prostrates to the worshipped Lord, the one of casting the pebbles and standing at Arafat, the possessor of the towering banner and majestic speech, the possessor of the word of sincerity, truthfulness, and affirmation.

12. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad and upon the family of our master Muhammad, a prayer by which You save us from all trials, hardships, terrors, and calamities, by which You grant us safety from all temptations, diseases, afflictions, and ailments, by which You purify us from all faults and sins, by which You forgive for us all offences, by which You erase from us all wrongdoings, by which You fulfill for us all that we ask of needs, by which You raise us in Your presence to the highest ranks, and by which You cause us to attain the utmost goals of all good things in this life and after death. O Lord, O Allah, O Answerer of prayers.

13. O Allah, I ask You to grant me, during the span of my life and after my death, multiplied many times over, a thousand thousand prayers and peace – multiplied again by the like of that and many times beyond – upon Your servant and Prophet Muhammad, the primordial Prophet and Arabian messenger, and upon his family, companions, children, wives, descendants, household, in-laws, supporters, followers, friends, allies, servants, and protectors. My God, make every one of those prayers surpass and excel the prayers of those who pray for him from all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth altogether, just as You favoured him above all Your creation, O Most Generous of the generous and Most Merciful of the merciful. “Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.” (2:127) “And turn to us in mercy. Indeed, You are the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.” (2:128)

14. O Allah, send prayers, peace, and honour upon our master and patron Muhammad, Your servant, Your Prophet, and Your Messenger – the primordial Prophet, the perfect master, the opener and the seal, the letter Ḥa of mercy, the letter Mim of dominion, the letter Dal of permanence, the ocean of Your lights, the mine of Your secrets, the expressive tongue of Your proof, the bridegroom of Your dominion, the very essence of Your creation and Your chosen one, whose light preceded creation and whose appearance is a mercy to all the worlds, the chosen, the selected, the elect, the well-pleasing; the very eye of divine care, the adornment of the Resurrection, the treasure of guidance, the leader of the divine presence, the trustee of the dominion, the ornamented robe of honour, the treasure of Ultimate Reality, the sun of the Sacred Law, the one who dispels the darknesses of ignorance, the supporter of the religion, the Prophet of mercy, and the intercessor of the nation on the Day of Resurrection – the Day when voices will be humbled and eyes will stare in awe.

15. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master and Prophet Muhammad, the radiant light, the most resplendent beauty, the bearer of the divine law of Musa and the source of the Gospel of Isa – may God’s blessings and peace be upon him and upon them all – the talisman of the outermost celestial sphere within the hidden reality of “I was a hidden treasure and loved to be known,” and the peacock of the sacred angelic realm in the outward manifestation of “So I created creation and made Myself known to them, and through Me they came to know Me,” the joy of the eye of certainty, the mirror of the resolute messengers in their witnessing of the True and Manifest King, the light of all lights illuminating the inner vision of the honoured prophets, the locus of Your gaze, and the vast expanse of Your mercy across all worlds, the first and the last. May Allah Most High send prayers upon him and upon his brothers among the prophets and messengers, and upon his family and his pure and noble companions.

16. O Allah, send prayers and peace, bestow and favour, grant and honour, and lavish and magnify the finest of Your blessings and the most complete of Your peace – a blessing and a peace that descend from the horizon of the innermost reality of the Essence to the celestial sphere of the manifestations of the Names and Attributes, and ascend at the lote tree of the utmost boundary of the Gnostics to the centre of the majesty of the manifest light – upon our master and patron Muhammad, Your servant, Your Prophet, and Your Messenger, the knowledge of certainty of the lordly scholars, the eye of certainty of the rightly guided successors, and the truth of certainty of the honoured prophets, he in whose majestic lights those of firm resolve among the messengers are lost, and in grasping whose realities the greatest of the enraptured angels are bewildered, the one upon whom it was revealed in the mighty Qur’an in a clear Arabic tongue: “Certainly did Allah confer [great] favour upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e., the Qur’an] and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.” (3:164)

17. O Allah, send prayers and peace of Your own essence upon the locus of Your attributes, the one who encompasses all perfection, described by the qualities of majesty and beauty, the one exalted beyond likeness to created beings, the fountain of divine knowledges and the encompassing vessel of heavenly secrets, the ultimate goal of those who seek and the guide of every bewildered spiritual traveller, Muhammad – the praised in attributes and essence – and Ahmad of all who have passed and all who are yet to come. Grant him peace, a peace from the beginning of pre-eternity to the end of everlastingness, such that it is not confined by number nor limited by term. And be pleased with his followers in the Shariah, the Spiritual Path, and the Ultimate Reality – from among the companions, the scholars, and the people of the path – and make us, O our Master, truly among them. Ameen.

18. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad and upon the family of our master Muhammad – the opener of the doors to Your presence, the very eye of Your care for Your creation, Your messenger to Your jinn and humankind, the one unique in essence, upon whom the clear signs were sent down, the one who pardons slips, the master of masters, the eraser of shirk and misguidance with decisive swords, the one who commands what is right and forbids what is wrong, the one intoxicated with the drink of divine witnessing – our master Muhammad, the best of all creation – may Allah send prayers and peace be upon him.

19. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon the one who possesses pleasing character, approved qualities, sound and rightful speech, and true spiritual states; who is endowed with pre-eternal care, everlasting felicity, Meccan openings and Medinan manifestations, divine perfections and lordly signs, the secret of creation, our intercessor on the day we are resurrected, the one who seeks forgiveness for us with our Lord, the caller to You and the one followed by whoever seeks to reach You, the one intimate with You and estranged from all besides You, until he was granted enjoyment from the light of Your Essence, and returned through You and not through other than You, and witnessed Your oneness within Your multiplicity; to whom You said, in the language of his state, and strengthened him with Your perfection: “Then proclaim what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists” (15:94), the one who remembers You in the night and fasts for You in the day, known among Your angels as the best of Your creation.

20. O Allah, we seek nearness to You by the comprehensive letter that encompasses the meanings of Your perfection. We ask You – by You, for You – to show us the face of our Prophet, may prayers and peace be upon him, and to erase from us the traces of our sins through the witnessing of Your beauty, and to cause us to absent from ourselves in the oceans of Your lights, protected from worldly distractions, turning to You, absent from ourselves through You. O He, O Allah; O He, O Allah; O He, O Allah – there is no deity but You. Give us to drink from the cup of Your love, and immerse us in the oceans of Your oneness until we roam freely in the vast expanse of Your presence, and cut off from us the illusions of created existence by Your grace and mercy. Illuminate us with the light of obedience to You, guide us and do not lead us astray, and grant us insight into our own faults instead of the faults of others, by the sanctity of our Prophet and master Muhammad, may prayers and peace be upon him, and upon his family and companions, the lamps of existence and the people of witnessing. O Most Merciful of the merciful, we ask You to join us with them and grant us their love. O Allah, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, O Possessor of majesty and honour: “Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.” (2:127) “And turn to us in mercy. Indeed, You are the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.” (2:128) Grant us beneficial knowledge, indeed, You have power over all things. O Lord of the worlds, O Most Compassionate, O Most Merciful, we ask You to grant us the vision of the face of our Prophet in our sleep and in our wakefulness, and to send prayers and peace upon him continuously until the Day of Judgment, and to send prayers upon the best of us and be for us.

21. O Allah, make the best of Your prayers forever, the most abundant of Your blessings eternally, and the purest of Your greetings in virtue and number, upon the noblest of the creation from mankind and jinn, the gathering point of the subtle realities of faith, the mount of the manifestations of excellence, the descent place of the All-Merciful’s secrets, the central jewel among the prophets, the vanguard of the messengers, the leader of the procession of the saints and the truthful, the best of all creation altogether; the bearer of the banner of the highest honour, the possessor of the reins of the loftiest glory, the witness of the secrets of pre-eternity, the beholder of the lights of the earliest beginnings, the interpreter of the tongue of timelessness, the source of knowledge, forbearance, and wisdom, the manifestation of the secret of generosity – both particular and universal, the human essence of the eye of existence, higher and lower, the spirit of the body of the two worlds, the very life of both abodes, the one fully realized in the highest ranks of servanthood and adorned with the character of the stations of chosenness; the greatest intimate friend and the most noble beloved – our master, our patron, and our beloved Muhammad, son of Abdullah, son of Abd al-Muttalib – may Allah send prayers upon him and upon his family and his companions, in a number equal to what You know, and in measure like the ink of Your words, whenever the people of remembrance remember You, and whenever the people of heedlessness neglect to remember You; and grant him abundant and everlasting peace.

22. O Allah, we seek nearness to You through his light that flows throughout existence, that You may give life to our hearts with the light of the life of his heart, which encompasses all things in mercy, knowledge, guidance, and glad tidings for the believers; and that You may expand our chests with the light of his all-encompassing breast “We have not neglected in the Register a thing” (6:38) – and as illumination and reminder for the mindful; and that You may purify our souls through the purity of his pure and well-pleasing soul; and that You may teach us through the lights of the knowledge – “And all things We have enumerated in a clear register” (36:12) – and that You may cause his inner secrets to flow within us through the flashes of Your lights until You make us absent from ourselves in the true reality of his reality, so that he becomes, within us, the Living, the Self-Subsisting by Your everlasting sustaining power, and we live through his spirit the life of everlasting life. May Allah send prayers upon him and upon his family and companions, and grant abundant peace – Ameen – by Your grace and mercy upon us, O Most Compassionate, O Most Generous, O Most Merciful; and through the manifestations of Your descents in the mirror of his witnessing of the descents of Your manifestations, so that we may be among the rightly guided successors in the provident care of those most near.

23. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master and our Prophet Muhammad – the beauty of Your gentleness, the tenderness of Your compassion, the majesty of Your dominion, and the perfection of Your holiness; the absolute light through the secret of divine accompaniment that is not confined, inward in meaning within Your unseen and outward in truth within Your manifest realm; the sun of lordly secrets and the locus of manifestation of the presence of the All-Merciful; the station of the noble scriptures and the light of the clear signs; the one whom You created from the light of Your Essence, whom You realized through Your names and attributes, and from whose light You created the prophets and messengers; and to whom You made Yourself known by taking the covenant from them through Your clear and true word: “And [recall, O People of the Scripture], when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], “Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and support him.” [Allah] said, “Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?” They said, “We have acknowledged it.” He said, “Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.’” (3:81)

24. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon the delight of perfection, the crown of majesty and the splendor of beauty, the sun of union and the fragrance of existence, the life of every living being; the glory of the majesty of Your sovereignty and the majesty of the might of Your dominion, the sovereign of what Your power has fashioned, the finest adornment of the choicest of the elect among those You have purified, the quintessence of the elite among those brought near to You; the greatest secret of Allah, the most noble beloved of Allah, and the honoured intimate friend of Allah – our master and patron Muhammad, may Allah send prayers and peace upon him.

25. O Allah, we seek nearness to You through him and seek his intercession with You – the possessor of the greatest intercession, the supreme Wasila, the radiant Shariah, the highest rank and the nearest station, and he “was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer.” (53:9) – that You may realize us through him in essence, attributes, names, actions, and works, until we neither see nor hear nor perceive nor find except You, O my God and my Master. By Your grace and mercy, I ask You to make our identity the very same as his identity in its beginnings and its ends, through the affection of his intimate closeness, the purity of his love, the openings of the lights of his insight, the all-encompassing secrets of his inner reality, and the gentleness of his mercy and the bliss of his favour.

26. O Allah, we ask You, by the rank of Your Prophet, our master Muhammad – may prayers and peace be upon him – for forgiveness, Your pleasure, and complete acceptance; do not leave us in this to ourselves even for the blink of an eye, O best of responders, for an intruder has come. O my Master, by the rank of Your Prophet Muhammad – may Allah send prayers and peace upon him – for indeed the forgiveness of the sins of all creation – first and last, righteous and sinful – is like a drop in the vast ocean of Your generosity that has no shore. For You have said, and Your word is the true and clear word: “And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.” (21:107) Send prayers and peace upon him and upon his family and companions all together. “My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.” (19:4) My Lord, “adversity has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful.” (21:83) “My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.” (28:24) O Helper of the weak, O Great Hope, O Awakener of the drowning, O Rescuer of the perishing, O Excellent Protector, O Security of the fearful – there is no deity except Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing; there is no deity except Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne; there is no deity except Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Noble Throne.

27. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon the most perfect gatherer, the supreme Lordly Pole, the adornment of the garment of faith, the source of generosity and excellence, the possessor of lofty aspirations, and the one endowed with divinely granted knowledge.

28. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon the one for whose sake You created existence, and by whose cause You made all things available – Muhammad, the praised one, the possessor of noble character and generosity – and upon his family and his companions, the Spiritual Poles, and forerunners who hastened to the side of that most exalted being.

29. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad – the radiant light, the clear expression, the eloquent Arabic tongue, and the upright way; a mercy to all the worlds, supported by the Trustworthy Spirit and by the Clear Book, the seal of the prophets, and the mercy of Allah to all the worlds and all creation altogether.

30. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon the one whom You created from Your light, whose speech You made from Your speech, whom You favoured above Your prophets and Your saints, and for whom You made the path from You to him and from him to them; the perfection of every saint devoted to You, the guide of everyone who strays from You, the guide of creation to the Real, the one who leaves all things for Your sake, the source of all good by Your grace; the one whom You addressed upon the carpet spread of Your nearness: “And ever has the favour of Allah upon you been great.” (4:113) The one who stands for You in the night, fasts for You in the day, and is enraptured in You within Your majesty.

31. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon Your Prophet, the vicegerent in Your creation, the one occupied with Your remembrance, the one who reflects upon Your creation, the keeper of Your secret, and the proof for Your messengers; the one present in the inner sanctuaries of Your holiness and the beholder of the beauty of Your majesty – our master and patron Muhammad – the interpreter of Your signs, the one manifest in Your dominion and hidden in Your unseen realm, adorned with Your qualities and calling to Your supreme power; the one of the merciful presence, the cloak of majesty, and the garments of beauty; the divinely sustained trellis, the beloved prophetic one, the radiant light, the pure pearl, and the powerful lamp.

32. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and his family, as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.

33. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master and our Prophet Muhammad – the ocean of Your lights, the mine of Your secrets, the Soul of the souls of Your servants; the splendid pearl and the fragrant essence, the very core of all existence; the letter h of rahamat (mercies), the letter j of darajat (spiritual degrees), the letter s of sa‘adat (felicities), the letter n of inayat (divine solicitudes), the perfection of all universals, the origin of pre-eternal realities and the seal of everlasting realities; the one occupied with You away from worldly things, the one who tastes from the fruits of divine witnessing, the one given drink from the secrets of holiness, the knower of what has passed and what is to come – our master and patron Muhammad – and upon his chosen family and his righteous companions.

34. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon the soul of our master Muhammad among souls, upon his body among bodies, upon his grave among graves, upon his name among names, upon his form among forms, upon his hearing among hearings, upon his movement among movements, upon his stillness among stillnesses, upon his sitting among sittings, and upon his standing among standings; and upon his ever-smiling, pre-eternal tongue and his everlasting seal. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his family and his companions, in a number equal to what You know and in measure filling what You know.

35. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad, whom You have given, honoured, and preferred; whom You have supported and aided; whom You have brought near and drawn closer; whom You have given drink and firmly established; whom You have filled with Your most precious knowledge, expanded through Your encompassing love, and adorned with Your most radiant word; the pride of the celestial spheres, the sweetness of character, Your manifest light, Your ancient servant, Your firm rope, Your fortified stronghold, the majesty of Your wisdom and the beauty of Your generosity – our master and patron Muhammad – and upon his family and his companions, the lamps of guidance, the lanterns of existence, the perfection of felicity, purified from all faults.

36. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him – a prayer by which knots are untied, a breeze by which distress is relieved, a mercy by which harm is removed, and an honouring by which needs are fulfilled. O Lord, O God, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, O Possessor of majesty and honour, we ask You for that from the virtues of Your gentleness and the wonders of Your grace. O Generous, O Merciful.

37. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon Your servant, Your Prophet, and Your Messenger – our master and our Prophet Muhammad, the primordial Prophet and the Arabian Messenger – and upon his family, his companions, his wives, his descendants, and the people of his household; a prayer that brings You pleasure and fulfills his due right. Grant him the Wasilah, the virtue, the honour, and the highest exalted rank, and raise him to the Praised Station which You have promised him. O Most Merciful of the merciful.

38. O Allah, indeed we beseech You and ask You, turning to You by Your Mighty Book and Your Noble Prophet, our master Muhammad, may Allah send prayers and peace upon him, by his glorious honour, by his forefathers Ibrahim and Ismail, by his two companions Abu Bakr and Umar, and by the Possessor of the Two Lights, Uthman, and by his family Fatimah and Ali and their two children Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn, and by his two uncles Hamzah and Al-Abbas, and by his two wives Khadijah and Aisha.
O Allah, we seek nearness to You through You, and we ask You and turn to You by Your mighty Book and Your noble Prophet – our master Muhammad, may prayers and peace be upon him – and by his glorious rank, and by his forefathers Ibrahim and Isma’il, and by his two companions Abu Bakr and Umar, and by the Possessor of the Two Lights, Uthman, and by his family – Fatimah and Ali and their two sons Hasan and Husayn – and by his two uncles Hamzah and al-Abbas, and by his two wives Khadijah and A’ishah.

39. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him, and upon his forefathers Ibrahim and Isma‘il, and upon the family of each and the companions of each – a prayer which the tongue of pre-eternity proclaims in the gardens of the unseen realm, upon the lofty stations, for the attainment of honours, and elevation of ranks; and which the tongue of pre-eternity cries in the lowest realm of human existence, bringing forgiveness of sins, relief of distress, and removal of hardships – as is befitting Your divinity and Your great stature, and as is befitting their worthiness and noble rank, especially with the unique qualities: “He selects for His mercy whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.” (2:105)

40. O Allah, let us realize the inner truths they possessed in the stations of their mystical knowledge, with the reward of “those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us” (21:101) – the family of Muhammad, may Allah send prayers upon him and grant him peace – and grant us success in attaining the greatest felicity through love of his near kin; and envelop us in his mighty honour, and his Praiseworthy Station, and beneath his established banner; and give us to drink from the Pond of gnosis of the One he knows, “on the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet” (66:8) – may prayers and peace be upon him – through the manifestation of the glad tidings: “Say, you will be heard; ask, and you will be given; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted,” and with the manifestation of the glad tidings: “and your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.” (93:5) Blessed and exalted are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour.

41. O Allah, we seek refuge in the might of Your majesty, in the majesty of Your might, in the power of Your authority and the authority of Your power, and in the love of Your Prophet Muhammad – may Allah send prayers and peace upon him – from estrangement and base desires. O Supporter of those who seek refuge, O Protector of those who seek protection, grant us refuge from passing thoughts of the lower-self, safeguard us from satanic desires, purify us from the impurities of human nature, and refine us with the purity of truthful love from the rust of heedlessness and the illusion of ignorance, until our traces vanish through the annihilation of ego and separation from human nature in the presence of gathering and emptying, and through being adorned with divine oneness and illuminated by the realities of absolute self-sufficiency in the witnessing of unity – where there is no where, no place, and no how – and all remains for Allah, by Allah, from Allah, to Allah, and with Allah, immersed in the blessing of Allah, in the ocean of His grace, aided by the sword of Allah, singled out with the noble gifts of Allah, regarded by the eye of Allah, favoured by the care of Allah, protected by the safeguarding of Allah from every distraction that distracts from Allah and every thought that arises in other than Allah. O Lord, O Allah; O Lord, O Allah; O Lord, O Allah: “And my success is not but through Allah. Upon Him I have relied, and to Him I return.” (11:88)

42. O Allah, occupy us with Yourself, and grant us a gift in which there is no room for other than You and no entry for anything besides You – vast through divine knowledge, lordly attributes, and Muhammadan character. Strengthen our beliefs with beautiful thoughts, true certainty, and the reality of firm establishment; and set right our states with guidance, felicity, and sound certainty. Make firm our foundations upon the straight path and the firm pillars of honour – “the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favour.” (1:7) – “of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous” (4:69) Establish our aims in noble glory upon the highest peak of honour and the resolve of those of firm determination among the messengers. O Helper of those who cry out, O Rescuer of those who seek aid, rescue us through the subtleties of Your mercy from the error of remoteness, encompass us with the breezes of Your care in the arenas of love, assist us with the lights of Your guidance in the precincts of nearness, and support us with Your mighty help – a help strengthened by the Glorious Qur’an – by Your grace and mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. “Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.” (2:127) “And turn to us in mercy. Indeed, You are the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.” (2:128)

43. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad, the primordial Prophet, and upon his wives, the mothers of the believers, and his descendants and the people of his household, just as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim; indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O support of the one who has no support, O pillar of the one who has no pillar, O treasure of the one who has no treasure, O mender of every broken one, O companion of every estranged one, O comforter of every lonely one – “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” (21:87), “You are my protector in this world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.” (12:101), “and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims.” (46:15) The prayers of Allah, His angels, His prophets, His messengers, and all of His creation be upon our master, our Prophet, and our patron Muhammad, and upon the family of our master Muhammad; and upon him and upon them be peace, and the mercy of Allah, and His blessings.

44. O Allah, admit us with him through his intercession, his guarantee, and his watchful care, together with his family and his companions, into Your abode – the Abode of Peace – “in a seat of honour near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability” (54:55), O Possessor of majesty and honour. Honour us with the vision of him through the subtle grace of his nearness, O Generous, O Merciful. Honour us with beholding the beauty of the radiant lights of Your magnificent Countenance, and preserve us through his honour with ennoblement, veneration, and exaltation. “A gift of welcome from the Most-forgiving, the Very-Merciful.” (41:32), in the gardens of divine pleasure of: “I have bestowed My pleasure upon you, so I will never be displeased with you.” Grant us the keys of the unseen to the treasures of the hidden secret within the concealed gardens of the knowledges of the meanings of the attributes, through the lights of the Essence – “On adorned couches, observing.” (83:23), “and for them is whatever they request” (36:57), “Peace, a word from a Merciful Lord.” (36:58) – through the gentle turning of Muhammadan compassion from the eye of his care – “As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment.” (44:57) – within the beauty of the palaces of the treasures of inner secrets of the verse – “And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes [i.e., satisfaction] as reward for what they used to do.” (32:17) – upon the bridal throne of the beauty of the seals of – “Their call therein will be, ‘Exalted are You, O Allah,’ and their greeting therein will be, ‘Peace.’ And the last of their call will be, ‘Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds.’” (10:10).
